Tracy S. Bailey, PhD Appointed New CEO
Myrtle Beach, SC October 20, 2020 – The Boys and Girls Club of The Grand Strand has announced the appointment of Tracy S. Bailey, PhD as their new CEO. She assumed responsibilities on October 12, 2020.
Dr. Bailey has been founding Chief Executive Officer of the Freedom Readers organization since 2010. During that time, she expanded the budget and increased the number of children and families served by the afterschool and summer literacy program. Dr. Bailey will continue in her role as CEO of Freedom Readers.
“I’m excited about the new direction The Boys and Girls Club is taking, especially the emphasis on providing unique and critical opportunities for the further academic development of our area’s children. It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am to oversee this strategic partnership between two stellar organizations,” Dr. Bailey said.
A native of Georgetown, SC, Dr. Bailey earned a Ph.D. in education with a specialization in Language and Literacy at the University of South Carolina in May of 2013. She seeks to instill in teachers, students, and the community at large the belief that every student can learn, and every learner has the responsibility to pass on new knowledge to another.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from underserved communities for over 20 years. The Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand has actively sought to enrich the lives of girls and boys and is dedicated to ensuring that our community’s youth have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.
