Annual Flag Football Exhibition Game

Myrtle Beach Fire and Rescue, Myrtle Beach Police Department, and Horry County Fire & Rescue have teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of the Grand Strand to participate in an annual exhibition-style flag football game in order to promote healthy relationships between those who serve our community, and the youth they so diligently work to protect.

In the wake of recent events which have plagued our country, it is easy for the image of those who protect and serve us to be tarnished. Part of the responsibility of the Boys and Girls Club is to enrich the community; whether it is through community service projects, keeping kids off the street, or recognizing those who put their life on the line for the safety of others. We are dedicated to strengthening the bond within our community, and take pride in having the ability to do so.

“A strong community boasts leaders and citizens with strong partnerships and relationships”, said Dione Buonto, Chief Executive Director. “We respect and admire our police and fire departments as positive role models to our youth and teens.”

“The Myrtle Beach Fire Department is very excited to be participating in the Boys and Girls Club Flag Football Tournament.  We enjoy any opportunity we get to work with the kids in our community and hope that this event will help strengthen our bond with the community.” said Jonathon Evans – MBFR PIO.
